One of my favorites!This is a gorgeous, very large, very unique, very rare and mechanical iron desk or table lamp with fantastic functionality. This lamp makes the perfect addition to any Steampunk collection. It features a crank mechanism that operates a chain reaction that ultimately raises and lowers the lamp arm. The crank also turns a secondary spindle which contains a sprocket with a set screw that holds all of the gears in place to maintain a certain position. The main mechanism was originally manufactured by Reading and is cast with "MADE ONLY BY THE READING HARDWARE CO. READING PA. U-S-A" with "78" in the center. This lamp is made from all antique parts except for the wiring, but is NOT an original Reading design. It is a newly fabricated piece.It is constructed of two cast iron bases with mounting holes (although not needed, it balances well in every position), cast iron gears and crank with the original oak handle, solid steel base frame, steel rod lamp arm with a steel shade and turn-key switch. All of the pieces have been cleaned and polished but left in previous condition to preserve its character and patina.At an average setting, it measures 15" tall and 25" wide x 16" deep. Fully extended it measures 29.5" tall and has a 7 x 6" shade. It weighs approximately 12 lb.(bulb not included) Please include $15.00 for a new Edison reproduction bulb as pictured. Extra-large Bradley & Hubbard adjustable lamp. This lamp is a real monster, weighing in at 10+ pounds. The base is adjustable, from approximately 22" to 27". Bottom of base is 7"; center of the base appears to be a little bit larger. All sockets appear to be matching. Lamp has been rewired for safety and is in good working order. I am not sure what material it is made of, but a magnet would not stick. The finish is absolutely beautiful, but I am unsure if it is original to the piece.

ON TOP OF THIS IS A FLUTED COLUMN WHICH ENDS IN A BEAUTIFULLY DETAILED CORINTHIAN PEDIMENT. THE FONT IS MADE FROM VASELINE GLASS AND ATTACHES TO THE BASE SECTION VIA A SCREW THREAD. THE FONT MEASURES APPROX 6.5 INCHES WIDE AND HAS A SMALL FLAW APPROX 1 INCH LONG AND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPHS. ABOVE THIS IS AN ORIGINAL DOUBLE BURNER WHICH HAS TWO WINDERS WHICH HAVE SUN DECORATION TO THE FRONT AS SHOWN. IN GOOD OVERALL CONDITION THE ORIGINAL WHICH IS IN PLACE BUT THE WINDERS WHILE TURNING DO NOT MOVE THE WICK UP IT PROBABLY NEEDS RETHREADING. IT ALSO HAS A SMALL LEVEL WHICH SHUTS ABOVE THE WICK. IT SITS ON AN OLD GREEN FELT BASE. THE BRASS IN THE JOINTS BETWEEN SECTION COULD DO WITH A GOOD CLEAN.
