from a collection of antiques and antique jewelry we'll be listing from the circa 1914 sacks family beach house estate in deal, new jersey, which has remained in the family since it was built and now being renovated.

VERY handsome vintage tole piente (painted tin / toleware ) lamps and shades in the charles X / empire taste. circa 1930s , electrified versions of period 1820 oil lamps with round tole "boulliotte" style shades. these were in the grand living room of this estate in deal, new jersey, and enjoyed for many years.

each with matching gold leaf painted figural classical grecian , atheneum , band , and highlight decoration on brilliant deep lapis / teal blue ground. urn and square plinth form , raised on round gold feet. original matching round tole shades are of slightly stylized boulliotte form , although not with the adjustable mechanism on the wire top frame. no apparent marks but i'm almost certain they're french / italian .

electrification currently in working order but we suggest replacing at some point. harps and finials included. one shade in pictures appears lobsided / tilted, however the shade is fine; the harp could use replacing as it tilts a bit. the white spots in some pictures are packing particles, not paint spatter. see pictures, sold as-found.

it's rare to find a truly stylish PAIR of vintage french tole lamps. they will look fabulous with italian , french , continental , english regency and other period decor. the shades alone are wonderful and can be used on other lamps, replacing this pair with parchment or silk!

dimensions: 28" overall tall; 18" to top of tole urn only; 7.5" square base; shade 9" tall x 16" bottom diameter.

in excellent original condition, minor dings, minor edge / surface wear to paint , as expected, as-found, see pictures; no damage or repairs observed, minor wear commensurate with age & use. sold as-found, as-is.
