This elegant and serene scenic slag glass lamp (circa 1910-1915), was made by Empire. Although Empire lamps were rarely (if ever) signed, the hardware that Empire used was not used by any other company, and is very recognizable. The shade sits on a rest at the top of the base, then is covered over with a decorative cast cap that screws down with the finial. The shade has 6 bent slag glass panels on the top, that are opalescent purple, brown and white. The panels along the bottom are green, red, yellow and pink end of day glass. No damage. Very dramatic when lit! The heavy, ornate base is iron, with the 2 original ball pull chain sockets. It`s been re-wired with cloth covered cord. It has an antique gold polychrome finish that`s still very rich. The lamp stands 24" tall, the shade is 15 3/4" across the flats and 17 3/4" corner to corner, and the base is 8" across. This is a heavy lamp, but any overcharge of estimated shipping to your area will be refunded. Insurance is included in shipping cost. Thanks for looking!
