pguariglia Store C1900 BRONZE SIGNED QUEZAL LAMP PULLED FEATHER SHADES This listing is for a circa 1900 American bronze, onyx, porcelain and glass table lamp. The lamp measures 22 1/2 inches or 57 cm high. It is very foliate in design, having two stems rising from the base. The base is onyx. Sitting on top of this onyx is a bronze round base with acanthus leaf design. Two stems arise out of this base. The stems themselves are further decorated with brass vines ending in porcelain flowers. The two stems end in signed Quezal shades. These shades are flower form. Both are signed "QUEZAL" on the inside of the rim. The shades besides being flower formed, have what is called a "pulled feather design" on their outside. The inside of these shades have a deep gold iridescence. This combination allows the shades to look good even when they are not lit. The shades fit a 2 1/4 inch fitter. The shades themselves measure 5 inches or 13 cm long. Their scalloped opening also measures about 5 inches in diameter. The shades attach to leaf form holders. These are in turn attached to a swivel so one can move the shades in different positions. The brass work is gilded. The condition overall is excellent. Both the shades are in perfect condition. The porcelain flowers also are excellent with only some very minor damage to a few of the pedals. The gilt bronze work has worn somewhat with age. This lamp is all original and in untouched and unaltered condition. The lamp works fine and turns on and off by a switch at the base. This is a very pretty lamp. There is no reserve.
