Antique/vintage Tin Wall Hung "clipper" Oil Lamp Picture(s) and Description:
Offered is this antique/vintage painted tin oil lamp. The ends of the larger,horizontal, Oil tank say; "The Clipper Manufacturing Co. Cincinnati, O". The exact age of this piece is a mystery to me. The style & design of this lamp look to be old. BUT. It has recent black paint on the tin. The shiny oil cap & brass burner both have the appearance of old, original, parts. The brass burner is unmarked but is of the interior thread type used on older oil lamps. The wick is an unburnt replacement & the glass chimney may also be recent. I believe the entire tin body is old, but was fairly recently painted. The stamped ends on the oil tank look like original, old, markings. The hooded reflector style is also interesting. The back hanging strap also doubles as a handle for carrying. I've not seen any reproduction lamps with this design. You will have to be the final judge as to its age. I'm selling this as is, no reserve, and no returns. Please view ALL my pictures carefully to better determine the exact condition to your own satisfaction.
