ANTIQUE ART DECO CHROME & GEOMETRIC SHADE DIANA LAMP Picture(s) and Description:

ANTIQUE

en enen en en TITLEANTIQUE ART DECO 1930's ORIGINAL CHROME DIANA NUDE LADY LAMP WITH SPECTACULAR GEOMETRIC SHADE ! DESCRIPTIONAn absolutely outstanding and exceedingly rare original Diana lamp from the 1930's, all in immaculate, gleaming chrome. A truly breathtaking example of Art Deco lighting - and an exceptionally impressive statement piece - this ultra-stylish Diana lamp is not only stamped with the maker's mark ‘G. Richie' to the underside of the superb pyramid-shaped base but also has a most extraordinary feature which sets it far above all other Diana lamps which, as we know, all show certain very obvious casting flaws deriving from the repeated use of the casting moulds. Here instead the beautiful sleek Diana figurine displays perfectly flawless casting - which clearly denotes that it was one of the very first to be cast of a batch of several hundred. Greatly enhancing the enormously impressive visual impact of the lamp is a truly spectacular and extremely rare shade in lightly frosted (acid-etched) glass. Having a myriad of bold angular panels rising to a multi-faceted semi-star form - each panel and facet is delineated with clear glass lines to better accentuate the forms - the shade is an absolute geometric masterpiece which perfectly complements the pyramid-shaped base. The lamp has a nickel plated turn key switch socket and has recently been rewired for your safety with a luxury quality old-style antique black-coloured twisted braided flex, (held in place behind Diana's pedestal) appropriate to its era and in complete harmony with the chrome. DIMENSIONS Height: 48 cm - 21 ½” Shade: H. 19 cm – 7 ½” max. dia: 17 cm - 7 ” CONDITION The lamp is in absolutely superb condition, all the chrome is shiny and bright with no pitting whatsoever, and the shade is completely free from chips, cracks or other damage (a few of the usual nibbles to the collar, completely invisible when the shade is in place). Please don't ask for 'Buy it now' as I believe in giving everybody a chance to win via auction.
